FabricAll of our jewelery is manufactured from a 98% pure tin alloy 2% is copper and antimony which gives our britana alloy both strength and ductility. Pewter jewelry is both beautiful and durable. It can also cast into plates and be used as tableware. Pewter is a very clean metal which is safe to eat from. Our pewter is very repairable should a piece be broken. We also color and electroplate the metal. We use no lead in any of our jewelry. Lead is both toxic and cheap. It also breaks easily. But our pewter just bends. We basically start the manufacturing process by heating 6 1/2 pound pewter ingot bars to about 550°F. We load our spin caster with a 12' rubber (silicon) mold. We clamp the mold into the spin cast machine. We apply power and pour molter pewter into the molds and spincast the product. The mold is removed from the machine and fine castings are removed. The next step is to inspect the castings for defects, and then hand finish each piece. Next we further polish and clean each casting by tumbling the product in a tumbler with stainless steel shot. This increases hardness and ductility. Next we apply porcelain like finish and set stones. All work is done by a master pewtersmith. We do apologize for our prises because in a quality product quality remains long after the price was forgotten. Our jewelry are small works of art of lasting beauty. | ![]() | |
